This cycle tour from Travemünde to Lübeck takes half a day. It passes through the hilly Waldhusen countryside, to the Herreninsel and continues along the old tow path on the southern bank of the Trave to Lübeck.
You start at the Priwallvorplatz: follow Jahrmarktstraße and turn left at the end into Torstraße. Keep to the right when the road forks to cross the old railway tracks. Then turn left into Ivendorfer Landstraße. After approx. 2 km turn right into Frankenkrogweg. Shortly after the village pond you take Ovendorfer Straße and continue towards Ovendorf. Once you get there, follow the Pöppendorfer Hauptstraße on the left and turn right at the next crossroads. Keep left at the next road junction and then go straight on until you cross the railway tracks. Shortly after that, turn right and follow the road straight on until you cycle under the B75. After approx. 350 m take the Kieselgrund on the right. A bus shuttle runs around the clock, replacing the pedestrian and cycle path at this point. Buses run every 15-20 minutes to bring you safely through the Herrentunnel free of charge (request stop at night). On the other side, a gravel road between the Trave and Spülfeld will bring you to a path that goes through the forest (keep right). Turn left onto Gothmunder Weg in the romantic fishing village of Gothmund and continue to follow Fischerweg. Keep right when the road forks. You're now cycling along the tow path on the southern bank of the Trave. In Schellbruch after approx. 3 km you follow a broad path that leads into the Straße An der Hülshorst. Turn into Torneiweg at the next crossroads and follow this along Glashüttenweg until the railway bridge. Then turn right into Travemünder Allee and on to the Burgtor. You've now arrived in Lübeck's old town and can end the day with a short stroll around the town.
