Border crossings of the Klützer Winkel (approx. 55 km)

Explore the border crossings of the Klützer Winkel and marvel at the beauty of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania countryside. Enjoy a varied cycle trail between nature and culture.

Day tour for sport cyclists:

You start by taking the ferry to the Priwall, the Mecklenburg part of Travemünde. It became an island when Germany was divided. Since the border opened it is possible to travel the road again between the Baltic and the Pötenitzer Wiek. The road is cobbled from Pötenitz to Harkensee, but it's worth enduring the bumpy route to see a noble old manor house and the pretty brick church in Klütz. The windmill in Klütz is the best place for a Midday rest with some outstanding, hearty Mecklenberg cuisine. Bothmer Palace on the way out of the town is also worth seeing. You now cycle through Goldbek to Dassow and along the Dassower See, an inlet of the Trave, back to Travemünde.
